How to reach Rara Lake: Rara Rendezvous

Life is Beautiful. And we get to know it even better after reaching Rara, the Largest Lake of Nepal. It's  rare beauty lies in the fact that it is among least explored Lakes on Nepal. Everyone who has reached in the site has no words to describe the breathtaking beauty. They further justify it's panoramic beauty can't be framed even in the sophisticated cameras. 

So, it is one of the most sought after Lakes for the trekkers and tourists since it was discovered. But then, it is not easily accessible. This is the bitter fact for Nepalese tourism for underdevelopment in Karnali region. However splendid natural beauty lies in the very region and we can only hope for the good governmental policies and implementation to carry out development in the area.

Facts about Rara lake:

• Largest  Lake of Nepal
• Regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Nepal
• Located at : Rara Village Development Committee of Mugu district in Far Western Region and falls in  Rara National Park
• Near headquarter Gham Ghadhi & Talcha Airport

• 3-4 days walking from Jumla

• Name formed 'Rara' : where the goat (Ra) was burnt (Raa)  

• Total length 5 km, 2 kms wide and 8 Sq. Km surface area with approx. 9 km perimeter and 167 metres deep.

How to reach Rara Lake:

Most appropriate option :

Ø      by trekking agencies in Kathmandu

Ø      14 day Camping Trekking via Jumla

Ø      Rara lake can be reached  in 3-4 days of walking from Jumla

Ø      By Plane : from Nepalgunj to Jumla, From Pokhara to Jumla & from Kathmandu to Jumla

Ø      Bus ride from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj will take 12 hours

Good alternative to Reach Rara Lake:

Ø      Fly directly to Talcha airport near Gham Ghadhi village and Rara Lake

Ø      Fly to Talcha Airport through Yeti Airlines at $100 approx. or NRS. 4,000.00 one way for per person

Ø      Directly from Helicopter from Nepalgunj or Surkhet which is around 20- 25% expensive but will save tough walk from talcha to Gham Ghadhi & back.

Ø      75% of the construction of Highway from Surkhet to Jumla is finished which will make Rara more accessible in near future.

21 Clever uses of Everyday items

Sometimes a great decorating project is right at our finger tips! We just need to look around the attic or basement or shed or in the kitchen! Everyone complains of having too much stuff, so look at your "stuff" differently! Here are some examples which we might have not noticed!! 

1. Empty match box turned into buttons and pins holder

      

2. Hold string tees to hanger with rubber band to get rid of them slipping from the hangers often.

3. Empty Tissue paper box used as Plastic and wrapping paper holder

4. Plastic holders in colorful pattern can be used as wall hanger in children's room

5. Vase and flower holder made refreshing look in the children's room.

6. Unused/Old shirts can be used as Cushion Cover

7. Old Mirror in bathroom got re modeled with attachment of vintage frame and some embellishments.

 

8. Empty Wine boxes re purposed as the cabinet in bath area. 

It can be adjusted in wall to get more space around

9. Old shower caps are useful to pack ballerina shoes and slippers while travelling

10. Old Grater used as Pencil holder. make sure it doesn't cut.

11. Use Magnetic stationary in vanity area to hold hairpins that you wont be searching them furiously in last minute .

12. Get maximum use of old toothbrush as it works as the cleaner for corn.

13. Do you have abandoned benches around your house ? Make them paint in color of your choice and make it the center of attraction of your home.

14. I haven't thought of re modelling an old table like this before . Very smart use.

15. Need to make statement with extraordinary stuff?? Make that folding ladder in the garden your table beside the bed. Wow, it also works as the book case.

16. Arrange bracelets, anklets and other jwelleries in old saucers/plates

17. Cutest of all, discarded test tube holder of lab gets re purposed in Cute vanity case. It Can hold all the essential make up stuffs that we need in hurry every morning.

18. Let the old roughed table be the center of attraction in your living area with just a coat of your favorite bright color.

19. Cake stand got a new name 'Bathroom stand'.

20. Use of old baby crib as Magazine holder

21. Most Simple of all. Just no effort. Place the empty Toilet paper roller besides basin or where you need in the bath area to hold pins, hair bands. It will save a lot of time.

Re purposing Maps

Sometimes being different has itself a different note. Want to have some proofs? I already have for you all. Just do a little effort of scrolling down. Have we ever thought of decorating our rooms with maps and calendars? I had never thought.

# No words for the redone table. It's been adorned with ignored song script in nude colour. What an Idea!!

# The room looks interesting and bright with maps of contrasting colors. 

# I just loved the way the table has been redone. The maps have made them brighter but the designer has been safe with non vibrating colour as white. It makes impression.

# And what about this bathroom with maps all around in the ceiling and walls. very unique. at least I 'vent seen like this yet !

#  Wall art ideas with maps !! I will love to do it in my baby's room in near future

# Best of all. I didn't know Maps could be this elegant.A first sight love.

Easy Household Tips

# Rub a little vegetable oil on your fingers before you chop chilli peppers. This will prevent you from getting chilli burn from the capsaicin in the peppers.

# To remove tea and coffee stains from your chinaware, make a mixture of baking soda, lemon juice and cream of tartar. Rub over the stain and wash off with cold water.

# Never use a detergent to clean your iron cookware. Just scrub it with salt and a clean paper towel.

# While preparing gravy, if you burn it accidentally, pour it into a clean pan, Add sugar to it and continue cooking. The sugar will absorb the smoked taste.

# After you clean fish tank, use the drained water to water house plants. The Nitrogen and Phosphorus in fish droppings makes the aquarium water a great fertilizer.

# To clean an electric kettle with calcium build up, boil a mixture of white vinegar and water in it.

# Avoid storing Bananas in a fruit bowl along with other fruits. Bananas release gases which cause other fruits to ripen quickly.

# Never store citrus fruits or tomatoes in the refrigerator. The low temperature degrades the aroma and flavour of these fruits.
